Moving over to ad code v2
Since the release of the v2 of our ad code, it has been exciting times, working with publishers who have enthusiastically embraced this new version. Today, almost all publishers send us ad requests through ad code v2 except for a few remaining publishers. However I would want that our remaining publishers who have yet not migrated to v2 of the ad code, should also reap the benefit of the improved ad serving logic that is available only via v2 of the ad code. Hence this is my personal request to those who have still not migrated to version 2.0 of our ad code to please do so on an immediate basis.
We value contribution of each and every publisher in our growth and would like to ensure that your monetization with our network is uninterrupted. Hence this request to you to migrate before we officially close support on the earlier version of ad code on September 1, 2009.
Migrating to v2 is a simple process.
Step 1: Login to your InMobi account.
Step 2: From list of your sites in the ‘My Sites’ tab, click on Retrieve ad code link for your sites that are still using the earlier version of ad code.
Step 3: Select the ad code suitable for your site (Advanced or Basic).
Step 4: Select appropriate language of ad code based on the site requirement (PHP-CURL, .NET, JSP, ASP, RUBY, PERL).
Step 5: Download the corresponding integration manual for reference.
Please note that from September 1st 2009, our system will respond with ads only if the requests are coming from ad code v2.
Warm Regards

@Gaurav:
Ad code v2 comes in two flavors: basic and advanced. You can ask for multiple ads in a single network/HTTP call through an advanced version.
There are two functions in the advanced libraries that let you do that (set_num_of_ads or set_ad_placements). After setting the required parameters a single request_ads function call will get the ads from the InMobi server. These ads can be called for in your application through subsequent fetch_ad calls.
We bundle a comprehensive document along with advanced ad code v2 library (as part of the zip file) in all languages that explain all the functions in detail.
Please let us know if any further clarification is needed.

@nLL:
One line answer to your query - “Yes, your version is v2″!
Detailed explanation of ad code v2 as a concept.
Ad code v2 request is identified if the following conditions are met:
1. presence of required parameters with valid values
2. optional presence of other identifiable parameters with valid values
3. sending these parameters through HTTP POST to ad server URL
4. send required headers along with HTTP POST call.
1, 3, and 4 are taken care by advanced code’s constructor and request_ads functions/methods and basic code’s inline code automatically. Optional parameters (2) are to be set by publishers in their use of advanced ad code library.
mk-version is a required parameter of ad code v2 that helps identify the code (things like language etc) under use. This comes hard coded in the ad code downloaded from InMobi’s site and publishers are not supposed to change it.

The integration of new basic code is simple but the issue is that we can display only one add per page and in consequence very low revenue potential of site.. this will encourage publishers to migrate to other add companies.. according to me inmobi.com should allow maximum of six ads per page with new basic code..
